Superlocalization of deformation in Ni3Ge single crystals with the L12 superstructure

Popis: | The loss of stability of homogenous plastic deformation of single crystal specimens of the Ni3Ge alloy is investigated under uniaxial constant-rate compressive loading and under creep conditions. A phenomenon of strain superlocalization is observed. Plastic deformation in the latter case occurs in a band a few tens of microns wide, reaching the values of hundreds of percent. It is shown that the phenomenon of strain superlocalization is associated with the formation of microcrystalline substructure in the strain localization band. |
