In order to solve the problem of torque ripple, a novel structure of switched reluctance motor (SRM) is proposed. Compared with the conventional SRM, the new SRM has a significant effect in suppressing torque ripple, reducing it by 53.5% with a slight increase in the average torque. In addition, as the proposed SRM has perfect symmetry in structure, consistent results in forward and reverse rotating conditions. Moreover, the switched reluctance driver (SRD) with the nonlinear models of optimized SRM inserted is built in MATLAB/Simulink. The control parameters of SRD are also optimized to further suppress the torque ripple. The simulation results verify that, on the basis of topology optimization, the SRD with optimized control parameters can generate 71.8% lower torque ripple and slightly higher torque. |
