One of the most prominent features of hemorrhagic shock is the process of differential vasoconstriction whereby, in order to maintain blood flow to the brain and heart, circulation is shunted away from the skin muscles, kidney and other splanchnic organs. Metabolic function is these organ will be attenuated and metabolic balance between organs lost when the resulting ischemia is prolonged. In 1981, Funahashi et al.1 reported a relationship between the kidney and liver regarding arginine metabolism. In this study, we indeed hemorrhagic shock in rats and investigated its influence on the metabolism of the liver and kidney by analyzing guanidino compounds. |
