Popis: Summary A novel seismic velocity and density modeling method based on temperature, stress and pore pressure fields resulting from standard basin model simulations have been developed and applied in seismic imaging and density field modeling. Transformation of the basin model fields to velocity and density is made using universally calibrated rock models. Applications show that high quality seismic images and density fields are produced in areas of geological complexity where it is challenging to define these properties from seismic and gravity data alone. This multi-disciplinary operation is therefore of high value in exploration as it gives high quality results from fast generation of an initial velocity model.
