Popis: Miniaturization and the need to obtain vibration actuators with increased reliability, having a multitude of practical applications, led to the development of a subset of actuators, namely those with magnetically suspended inertial mass, with absolutely no elastic moving element subjected to mechanical wear. This paper investigates an original model of nonconventional electromagnetic vibrator having an inertial magneto-elastic mass suspended in a ferrofluid. The permanent magnet used as inertial mass is self-levitated in the ferrofluid, and the magnet vibrations are transmitted in exterior through an elastically suspension (inertial vibrator), constituted by the ferrofluid when a sinusoidal current passes through the coil/coils of the device. Such vibrators can be used for cellular phones and haptic systems or active vibration damping.
