Numerical simulation of the jet and hypersonic flow interaction with UGKS

Popis: The interaction flow fields between a continuum jet and the hypersonic free stream with altitudes ranging between 70 and 100 km are simulated with a two-dimensional implicit Unified Gas Kinetic Scheme (UGKS) solver. It is shown that the boundary layer separation and vortices usually existing upstream of the jet in continuum picture of jet interaction disappear in the jet-on case at altitude of 100 km. The effects of jet interaction on the pressure, shear stress and heat flux distributions on the wall are presented and analyzed.
