Popis:	Luteolin was isolated as a lipase inhibitor from Cassia mimosoides var. nomame. During an investigation on the inhibitory effects of the other related flavonoids on lipase, flavonols (kaempferol, myricetin and quercetin) exhibited activity comparable to that of luteolin, while their glycosides, flavanones and flavan-3-ols showed negligible activity. The inhibitory activity on lipase was also shown by quercitrin gallate, epigallocatechin gallate, isoflavones and chalcones.
