Popis: | Safety culture is a critical component of good science. Various initiatives are underway to support a collaborative culture of safety, including the American Chemistry Council's Safety Performance Initiative, the Pistoia Alliance Chemical Safety Library, the Dow-University Safety Partnerships, and the ExxonMobil Partnerships in Academic Lab Safety (PALS) program. In this paper we will review collaborative community safety resources, consider the continuing challenges and barriers to sharing safety information effectively, and suggest that the ACS is ideally positioned to help our community reduce those barriers, and develop a strong positive safety culture through safety data sharing and collaboration. |
