Popis: | Due to globalization it is required to compete with different global Companies. For this there is a need to supply defect free, efficient and reliable machining products and machine parts such as turbine blades, rotors, impellers etc, to the international market. New programming techniques and specific software modules integrated with Unigraphics (3D Modeling software) for placing the cutter along different surfaces are developed in manufacturing industry which would improve productivity, reduce cost and reduce cycle time for machining turbine blades. Expertise is built in the area of 5-Axis machines and new manufacturing techniques are developed. This paper describes optimization of tool path by using Unigraphics NX6 CAD/CAM software which is integrated with 5-Axis CNC machines. The model of steam turbine blade is created in UG NX CAD, based on tool cutter path data obtained from post processor and UG NX CAM software it is machined on 5-Axis CNC machine and finally inspected by 3D Co-ordinate Measuring Machine. The results show that lesser deviations of dimensions are obtained when blade is machined on 5-Axis CNC machine. |
