| Popis: | Gamma camera scintiphotography was employed to study 30 patients with alcoholic liver disease. Marked hepatomegaly was found in 40% and abnormally small livers in 27%. Splenic uptake was significant and demonstrable in 60% of the patients. Only 10% had palpable spleens. Bone marrow uptake and splenic uptake correlated well with the severity of the disease. A characteristic scan suggesting a "flying bat" was observed with advanced alcoholic liver disease. |
