Popis: | Atopic cataract is one of the most serious ocular complications in the patient with atopic dermatitis, and occurs mostly in adolescent period. We experienced 3 cases of atopic cataracts with atopic dermatitis. There were several common factors, i. e. (1) severe atopic dermatitis (2) asthma (3) high serum IgE level (4) positive RAST or skin test to house dust, mite, candida etc. Some of these factors may lead to the exacerbation of atopic cataract.Prevention of atopic cataract is the most urgent problem in the management of atopic dermatitis. Atopic cataract is exacerbated commonly in adolescent period. Therefore in this period, we should diagnose cataract in early stage by ophthalmological examination, and adequate treatment of atopic dermatitis may result in prevention of atopic cataract. |
