Popis: | It is unreasonable to expect students to become adept in the measurement of the area and circumference of circles without a thorough introduction to pi. Why is it that the phrase “the area is 49π square inches” means nothing to so many elementary and secondary school students? Although pi's role in mathematic is seldom clownplayed. it is rarely developed in the context of the formula A = πr2. Perhaps every student needs to take a “discovery” look at pi. |
