Popis: The paper describes the results of studying kinetics of cesium and strontium sorption by clinoptilolite modified by nickel-potassium ferrocyanide (the NPF-CL sorbent) from various aqueous media (tap water, 0.01 M NaCl and 0.1 M CaCl2 + 0.01 M NaCl solution) containing 100 mg/L cesium or strontium. The effect of composition of a solution on observed rate constants at the first and the third stages was determined. It was shown that chemical composition of a solution affected the observed rate constants of cesium and strontium sorption at the first (chemical transformation of the ferrocyanide phase due to heterogenic ion exchange reaction) and the second (precipitation of mixed ferrocyanides phases in micropores of the sorbent) stages of the sorption process. Changes of surface texture and porosity of the sorbent after cesium and strontium sorption were determined using the methods of scanning electron microscopy and low temperature nitrogen adsorption.
