A gas reservoir identification method in high temperature and high pressure conditions based on density difference information

Popis: Summary Because of the particularity of high temperature and high pressure gas reserviors, the precision of gas identification and prediction technologies for high temperature and high pressure gas reserviors are much lower than the conventional gas reserviors. Therefore, we propose a new gas layer identification method based on density difference in this paper. Through the equation derivation, a calculated density is obtained, and the differences between the calculated density and measured density by logging are used to identify gas and non-gas layers in this research. The results of practical prestack inversion show that our method can identify and predict the gas-zone effectively, which provides a new method for exploration and development of high-temperature and high-pressure gas reservoirs.
