Popis: | Patent ductus arteriosus is no longer a developmental curiosity; it is known to predispose to subacute bacterial endocarditis, and recent prominence has been given to the cure of cases of an otherwise fatal disease by ligation of the duct. It is, therefore, well to record a case in which there was subacute bacterial endocarditis, patent ductus arteriosus, and multiple aneurysms of the larger branches of the pulmonary artery: moreover, a study of the available literature has not revealed the publication of the radiological features of such a case. The patient, a male aged 26 years, complained of lassitude and breathlessness on exertion. The dyspnœa increased, so that within three months he was only free from it while resting on a chair.
