Popis:	Observations of the degree of branching in various populations of Stigeoclonium tenue Kutz. were correlated with physical and chemical parameters of the environment. Water velocity and depth did not affect the degree of branching, whereas the latter tended to decrease in water of high nutrient status. Nitrate-N levels in the water were most important in affecting the algal growth form.
