Popis: Research work in the fields of Model-Driven Engineering (MDE) and Model-Driven Development (MDD) shows that model management is becoming increasingly important and is implicated in a wide range of areas such as knowledge management, metadata management (databases), ontologies, quality of service, and software engineering. Model representation is fundamental in model management. Existing formalisms do not meet all essential requirements for representing and managing knowledge models. In this context, we introduce in this paper a new formalism which meets all these requirements. Our solution supports IDM. It targets the field of the knowledge management in particular but could be used for applications in other fields where the need to model things and/or to represent models arises.
