Popis: Reviewing the full span of contributions to the book, this chapter readdresses the central question of whether international scholarships lead to positive social change. First, it highlights the book’s major themes: the fragmented universe of scholarship programs; balances and trade-offs in design; and the dilemmas involved in returning home. Second, the chapter examines the policy and programming implications of strengthening specific pathways to social change, including strategies to support individual change agents, strengthen social networks, widen access, create more inclusive academic institutions and promote international understanding. Finally, the chapter proposes a future research agenda to build on available evidence, improve policymaking and develop a dynamic community of practice dedicated to advancing social change outcomes.
