Popis: A study is made of the effect of the irradiation temperature and the absorbed dose on the crosslinking and degradation of butadiene-nitrile (BNR) and fluororubbers and their vulcanizates in the strained and the free states. In the case of low absorption doses, the irradiation of BNR and their vulcanizates leads to simultaneous rupturing of molecular crosslinks and main chains of the polymers, while in the high dose region the degradation of crosslinks predominates. Irradiation of the fluororubbers (copolymers of vinylidene fluoride and hexafluoropropylene) leads to main chain scission accompanied by the formation of mainly trifunctional crosslinks. The rate of degradation of the strained vulcanizates in higher by one order compared with the undeformed samples.
