Popis: | This paper summarizes key insights from studies of common-cause failures (CCFs) of emergency diesel generators, motor-operated valves, motor-driven pumps, and circuit breakers from 1980 to 2005. The data studied were derived from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's CCF database, which is based on US commercial nuclear power plant event data. The insights are the result of an in-depth review of the CCF data. Trends of the annual number of CCF events show that the number of events has been decreasing over time. The insights can help to focus inspection and utility maintenance activities. |
