Popis: | The decision to drill a development well in a structurally complex area can be a difficult one. This paper shows an example of how the critical analysis of previous interpretations was done to re-assess reservoir quality. Core data and log-derived petrophysical properties suggested an infill well will likely have low productivity index. However, classical analysis of pressure and dynamic data showed that these previous reservoir assumptions were pessimistic, and subsequently led to the successful drilling and completion of a development oil well in the Nose area of the Chirag field in Azerbaijan. |
