Popis: In south-west of China, landslide is a common kind of geologic hazards, which is a very serious potential threat for security operation of power system when it lies very close to transmission corridor. In this paper, an online monitoring device, containing three kinds of fiber optical sensors which respectively measure displacements & water pressure for different locations inside the landslide body, and width variances of the landslide surface fractures, is introduced in details. All these measured data, together with meteorology information obtained by local micro weather station, are transferred back to control center by GPRS, then software processes them to present land slide status. This device was already installed in the place where is near to No. 50 power tower of a certain transmission line in Sichuan, China. Until now it has successfully operated half a year. Large amount of data were obtained. Analysis results prove its effectiveness.
