This paper set up the test platform of low-temperature characteristics of conductors, researched the damping characteristics of conductors at low temperature, selected two typical conductor models frequently used in the Engineering, and conducted damping ratio tests of conductors at low temperature and normal temperature (there are eight different temperatures). The test method process is shown as below: exerting short-time impact load to make the conductors damp free, conducting data acquisition via the damping curves of conductors, and obtaining the damping ratios data of conductors at a temperature. The test result shows that the damping ratio of the conductor at low temperature is smaller than that at normal temperature, and this also proves that the conductor vibration at low temperature is severer than that at normal temperature from another perspective [1]. This paper provides data support for study on low-temperature characteristics of conductors, and is in favor of enhancing design level of power transmission line in the low-temperature region. This study provides technical support for safe and stable running of power transmission lines at lower temperature. |
