Computational study of a coupled-cavity colour-centre laser

Popis: A detailed computational study of a synchronously pumped KCl:Tl coupled-cavity laser system is given. The main laser cavity is coupled to an external cavity containing an optical fibre. As expected, the results show pulse narrowing for fibres possessing normal, anomalous or zero group-velocity dispersion. It is the dependence of the degree of compression upon the intracavity phase change and the output spectra that are investigated in considerable quantitative detail. The conclusions obtained are found to be in agreement with experiment.
