Popis: | The shortage of human resources to support the pre-frail and frail older adults is a critical issue. As such, supporting them using various information and communication technology (ICT) and internet of things (IoT), including monitoring systems, communication robots, and nursing-care information systems, has been increasingly demanded. Although studies regarding these have increased, their actual usages in care and support corporations have not been widely implemented. In this study, we aim to collect the remarkable cases that improve the work in such corporations using information systems in community-based care and then to summarize the implications of ICT and IoT for supporting the pre-frail and frail older adults. First, we conducted on-site and interview surveys of twelve domestic cases and clarified various needs and usages. Then, we summarized the needs of ICT and IoT in the perspective of supporting older adults and caregivers. After that, as notable examples, we introduced the use of information-sharing systems in some corporations, and also mentioned a workshop where sensors originally used to monitor the older adults were used to create opportunities for motivating them to rethink their way of living. |
