Carboxamido carbonyl complexes of manganese(I)

Popis: Mn(CO)5Br reacts with primary aliphatic amines, RNH2, to form carboxamido complexes, Mn(CO)4(CONHR)(NH2R): Mn(CO)5Br + 3RNH2→Mn(CO)4(CONHR)(NH2R + RNH3+Br−. Their reaction with HCl removes the −NHR group from the carboxamido group according to the equation: Mn(CO)4(CONHR)(NH2R) + 2HCl→[Mn(CO)5(NH2R)]+ Cl− + RNH3+Cl−. The [Mn(CO)5(NH2R)]+ ions react instantaneously with amine, RNH2, to regenerate the carboxamido complex, Mn(CO)4(CONHR)(NH2R). Infrared, nmr, and mass spectra of the new compounds are discussed.
