Popis:	The structure and principles of the design of a secondary standard of the unit of the energy of picosecond pulses of laser radiation are considered and the problems that may be solved through the use of this standard enumerated. Results of measurements of the energy of short pulses of laser radiation are presented and the components of the error of the standard estimated.
