Popis: | This paper introduces a measure of solar variability, the probability of persistence (POP) based on the relationship between solar variability and POP. POP offers unique contributions to system operators and planners. Day-ahead solar variability can be forecasted quite accurately through POP. The POP framework indicates the probability that the forecasted solar variability is within the ramping capability of the local power system and determines the rating of the additional accommodating resource if needed. |
