Popis: Seismic inversion is a key reservoir characterization technology, and the number and size of inversion studies continues to grow. To address the challenges of this increased activity, we have developed a proprietary inversion and property estimation tool, for faster project turnaround, greater human interaction and with enhanced capabilities. The result is a 3D elastic inversion scheme, fully coupled in space and time with geostatistical constraints, that simultaneously inverts multiple seismic angle substacks. The scheme works in a stratigraphic grid in time, in order to facilitate integration with geomodelling workflows. The user interface is script-based, giving great flexibility and repeatability, and hence supporting efficient workflows for updating inversion products and derived properties as data and our understanding develop during field life. We present a case study of a chalk field in the Danish North Sea for which we have routinely updated the seismic inversion and porosity prediction when additional well data, improved seismic products or updated rock physics models have become available. The presentation aims at demonstrating the benefits of this new technology in carrying out workflows for these updates, as well as showing the results.
