Bladder neck sparing radical prostatectomy. Impact on continence and local recurrence

Popis:	Radical prostatectomy is the treatment of choice for stage A e B prostatic carcinoma and optional in locally advanced forms. This surgical treatment, however, can lead to various problems such as preservation of sexual function, urinary continence and local recurrence. We present our experience to show how preservation of bladder neck fibres can influence urinary continence without affecting local recurrence. The latter was found in 13.8% of patients, while 90.7% were continent within 24 hours after removal of the catheter.
