Popis: | Sleep is controlled by homeostatic and chronobiological mechanisms, and changes with an individual's growth. As an important aid to development, sufficient and regular sleep promotes children's physical, intellectual, emotional, cognitive and behavioral development. It is also beneficial in preventing adulthood diseases. Early childhood is a key period when sleep circadian rhythm and habits undergo great development. Children's sleep quality and quantity are directly or indirectly influenced by social, cultural, family and other relevant factors. With social development, as well as with lifestyle children's sleep patterns experience some changes. There is a certain gap between children's sleep time and previous reference standards, especially in primary and secondary students, with less time now being spent asleep. It seems to be related to delayed bedtime, co-sleeping, and sleep assistance, coupled with higher expectations from parents and society. |
