A U-slotted square microstrip path antenna at operating frequency 37 GHz has been proposed for millimeter wave (mmWave) fifth-generation mobile communication. The proposed antenna has a compact size of 4.35 × 4.35 mm2 and printed on a FR-4 substrate material with the thickness of 0.95 mm, dielectric constant of 4.3 and loss tangent of 0.0009. A U-slotted radiating shape over the square patch has been used in the proposed antenna in order to enhance the gain and bandwidth. The result of the proposed antenna shows, return loss of −36.146 dB, gain of 5.737 dB and bandwidth of 6.17 GHz. The output of this paper also shows that proposed antenna has a good performance in terms of radiation pattern, radiation efficiency and total efficiency for the fifth-generation cellular communication at 37 GHz resonant frequency. |
