Popis: | This work demonstrates the use of genetic algorithms (GA) to perform the electromagnetic characterization of RF magnetic materials. The methodology entails minimizing a multiple objective cost function where the GA is attempting to minimize the difference between the measured reflection coefficient and the reflection coefficient computed by the GA for both perpendicular and parallel polarizations simultaneously. The GA computes its reflection coefficients via the Fresnel reflection coefficient formulas and candidate solutions for the permittivity and permeability. Characterization results using synthetic data are presented for a conductor-backed magnetic test sample. |
