Popis: | The diffraction and transition radiation of a nonrelativistic charged particle on a perfectly conducting sphere is described using the method of image charges known from electrostatics. Asymptotic formulas that describe the characteristics of the radiation in the low- and high-frequency regions are constructed. It is shown that this approach in the high-frequency limit can be extended to the case of a relativistic incident particle. |
