Popis: | Aflatoxin M1 (AFM1) was analysed in 102 samples of fresh cow milk marketed in Penang and 45 samples of human milk from Penang Maternity Hospital. AFM1 determinations were carried out by HPLC using fluorescence detector (FLD) after sample clean-up with immunoaffinity columns. Aflatoxin M1 was detected in 4(4%) out of 102 cow milk samples analysed (4.0% occurrence). However the positive results were below 0.5 μg kg−1 which set as the maximum limit for AFM1 in milk by Malaysian food regulations. None of the human milk samples were positive for AFM1 contamination. |
