Popis:	The role of transposable elements as controlling and destabilizing factors of the genome of germ and somatic cells is considered. The ability of various stress factors, both intragenomic (hybrid dysgenesis, inbreeding, and outbreeding) and environmental (heat and ionizing radiation), to induce transposable element transposition is analyzed.
