Popis: The objective of this chapter is to review some of the uncommon cardiac diseases that we encounter in patients undergoing cardiac surgery. Each subsection includes a general overview of the pathology and perioperative concerns for the management of patients with the specific conditions. The appropriate understanding of the underlying pathological disorder and the perception of how it affects the anesthetic approach is fundamental for the successful management of patients with rare diseases. A multidisciplinary approach with excellent communication between the surgical team is especially important to anticipate perioperative problems and provide the best individualized anesthetic plan for patients with infrequent conditions undergoing cardiac surgical procedures.
