Popis: | Marchantia polymorpha thalli were pulse labeled with 2-14C-IAA, and the relative distribution of that isotope in the dominant and subdominant lobes was determined. The dominance of the primary lobe was marked; mobilization into the secondary lobe could be enhanced by apical excision or disruption of the conducting tissue. Gibberellin and cytokinin also raised the level of isotopic activity in the subdominant lobe, but the influence of cytokinin was only expressed when regeneration was not occurring in the dominant lobe Correlative control of lateral lobe growth and regeneration may be mediated by gradients of these growth regulators established independently at each apex. |
