Popis:	ALTHOUGH the anodic reaction of methanol has been studied extensively,1-7 the details of the reaction mechanism are still uncertain. Some authorss,7 state that the electroactive species is the hydrogen atom, liberated from methanol adsorbed on the electrode surface. One of the present authors has suggested some indirect evidence for this mechanism,’ but no direct proof for the dissociation of adsorbed methanol has yet been given.
