What are the most appropriate educational placements for a specific gifted adolescent? The answers are as varied as the gifted and talented are themselves. These young people differ in terms of their underlying constellation of abilities or aptitudes; current levels of talent development in one or more areas; knowledge and skills in specific content areas; social, emotional, and motivational development; personal experiences; work and study habits; current in- and out-of-school interests and desires; and life goals and aspirations. Not only do the gifted differ among themselves, but the education options available to each of them vary greatly. |
