MODELLING OF ONE-DIMENSIONAL ANALYSIS ON THE OPEN-CHANNEL WITH A TRIBUTARY

Popis: | The backwater characteristics of the open-channel with a tributary have been studied analytically and experimentally. Our study was limited in the simpler case of fixed bed, subcritical flow, straight channels with rectangular cross section and horizontal bed. The specific depth at upper and lower channel section of the controle volume assumed significantly in the junction was obtained by the momentum equation as function of the Froude number and the confluence parameter which was consisted of confluence angle, ratio of width of both channels and ratio of discharge. By the result the confluence model was proposed for one-dimensional numerical analysis of steady and unsteady surface profiles of channel system. Reliability of the model was confirmed experimentally and the presented analysis clarified the flow characteristics near confluence point. |
