Popis: | A comparative experimental study on the effect of the vibration of an optical fiber lead in an optical current measurement system has been made with the use of a polarimeter. The experimental results obtained have shown that both the depolarization effect and the decoherence effect of a multimode fiber can be used to suppress the vibration‐induced noise in a fiber lead in such an optical current measurement system. With the use of a low‐coherence source and a long multimode fiber of 2200 m, an improvement of more than 40 dB of the output signal‐to‐noise ratio has been demonstrated. |
