Popis: | Preparation of an anisotropic graphite material from raw petroleum coke was investigated, without use of binder pitch or sintering agents.Raw petroleum coke was finely pulverized and dispersed into the aqueous solution of non-ionic surfactant (0.2%) to prepare its slurry (9-50%). The slurry was slowly filtered in the magnetic field (2-13K Gauss) rotating horizontally. The filtered mass obtained was dried and carefully compressed in a carbon mold (3cm∅) under thepressure (250kg/cm2) applied perpendicular to the plane of the rotation of the magnetic field previously applied, at room temperature. The mass compressed was baked at1400°C in a non-oxidative atmosphere and subjected to the hot-pressing at2200-3000°C under 200-600kg/cm2.The graphite material obtained was highly anisotropic and the half of mosaic spread of the graphite measured by X-ray (002) diffraction was15-19degree. |
