Emissions of criteria pollutants (CO, NOx and SO2) and of greenhouse gases (CH4, N2O and CO2) were calculated, with the objective of estimating carbon footprint produced by the industrial fixed sources of Barranquilla, to contribute to the knowledge of the current state of the city in terms of air quality. The results showed a total emission value corresponding to 331,967.8t/year of Equivalent Carbon Dioxide (CO2-eq), for the industries identified, a linear extrapolation was developed taking the hypothesis that all unknown industries (87) could be considered as a source of polluting emissions and also they have the same distribution as the 26 industries evaluated, if so, the carbon footprint of industries in Barranquilla would have a value close to 1110815.5 t/year of CO2-eq. |
