Popis: | A cradle-to-grave life cycle assessment (LCA) method is used to evaluate the environmental impacts associated with natural gas vehicles (NGVs). Production, operation, maintenance, and disposal stages of the light-duty (passenger cars) and heavy-duty vehicles are considered in the analysis. Environmental impact assessment results indicate that operation and manufacturing of NGVs are the most critical life cycle phases that contribute to environmental impacts. Light- and heavy-duty natural gas vehicles are found to be more environmentally benign than conventional vehicles working with gasoline and diesel fuel. |
