| Popis: | Progress towards the total synthesis of pyrancin, a structurally-unique member of the annonaceous acetogenin family of natural products, is reported. Methodology includes an asymmetric glycolate aldol reaction and an asymmetric glycolate alkylation to install key stereocenters in the natural product. Several strategies towards uniting the pyranicin skeletal backbone are evaluated. |
