Popis: | Practical testing of these scaling circuits revealed that the best results were obtained with analog devices working with dc; formulas and nomograms have been derived for this case, which substantially facilitate the operation under industrial conditions. These circuits may be used in combination with radioisotope thickness gauges to expand the application of standard gauges of this style without modification in the electrical circuit or other design features, while providing also a basis for two, three, or more gauges in a system in order to monitor one, two, or more layers of coating. In addition, one can eliminate interaction between the signals passing to the scaling unit and automatically convert the results on the wet coating to a given water content in the finished product within any specified limits. One can use the radioisotope thickness gauge for uniform sheet materials, with automatic correction for the specific density (α=ρ, whereρ is the specific density of the material). |
