Popis:	Trichocolea argentea Herzog, a little known South American species, is critically reviewed, based on the type material. Detailed morphological observations reveal the plants show (1) regularly 1-pinnate ramification pattern, (2) sublongitudinal leaf insertion, (3) poorly developed thick-walled stem cortex, and (4) shoot calyptra with well-developed perianth and calyptra, all character states typical of the genus Leiomitra (Trichocoleaceae), and so a new combination Leiomitra argentea (Herzog) T.Katag. is proposed.
