Data Science and its position in university education within National Project IT Academy-Education for 21st Century

Popis: In this paper, we present the general description of Data Science, artificial intelligence, machine learning and deep learning. We describe the short history of Data Science from the beginning to nowadays. We briefly notate the interdisciplinarity of Data Science, different roles of data scientists, different types of tasks in machine learning. We thoroughly present the role of National project IT Academy - Education for the 21st Century in the university education in Slovakia. Moreover, we describe the main role of Competence center for university education and the several educational and research results of this center regarding the national project IT Academy - Education for the 21st Century.
