Popis: Amapas coast estuaries, are strongly influenced by Amazon River discharge and large tidal amplitude providing an unique and extremely dynamic environment. Remote sensing and hydroacoustic mapping were used for morphological and hydrodynamic ch aracte rization of the Cunani river estuary. The data were collected during the rainy season in April 2014 and transition season rainy /dry in August 2014. For the morphological characterization was used data from Landsat 8 OLI images, RADAR PALSAR, bathymetric and seismic data, using an echosounder SonarMite of Ohme x with transducer operating at a frequency of 235 kHz and the BATHY 2010 PC seismic system with frequency 3.5 and 10 kHz. River discharge data was collected with an ADCP (Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler) Teledyne at frequency of 600 kHz. Me asurements were made at four points between the middle and the lower river and the saltwater intrusion was investigated by making use of a digital hydrometer and CTD RINKO profiler. The integration and analysis of the dataset allow the characterization of the Cunani rivers estuary as coastal plain dominated by tide in a macrotidal environment partially mixed tending to vertically homogeneous and unfilled.
